Today marks the 53rd birthday of Hollywood icon Nicolas Cage, who is easily one of the most interesting actors of our generation. Whether you love him or hate him, his filmography features a diverse variety of films, from dramas and comedies to horror and super heroes. No matter what type of Cage you like, there’s a movie out there of his you unabashedly love.

The Oscar-winning actor himself has quite a few tattoos, often covered with makeup for his roles, so some of his biggest fans decided the best way to honor him was to get his likeness embedded in their flesh. From photo-realistic likenesses to, well, “artistic interpretations,” there are as many Nicolas Cage tattoos as there are Nicolas Cage movies.

We wish this tattoo had also come with a time stamp so we knew whether or not the Nic Cage fan got this before or after having seen Ghost Rider or Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance. The films themselves might not be too memorable, but if you were a big fan of the character or the actor, this probably would have been a great tattoo idea at one point. Regardless of the quality of the movies, the quality of the tattoo is fantastic.

It’s tough to tell exactly what’s going on at the top of the tattoo, except maybe the fractured image is supposed to represent the fractured psyche of an actor tasks with portraying so many different characters? Or perhaps the subject handed the artist a photo that was cropped in the middle of the forehead and the artist had to get creative.

Holy. Crap. This is incredible. The artistry on display in this portrait of Cameron Poe from Con Air is so realistic that it looks like he could start shaking his hair in a cool breeze at any moment.

It’s tough to say what film inspired this tattoo, as the colors look Ghost Rider-ish but the hair looks like Knowing era Cage, but whatever the inspiration, it was a bold move for the fan to commit his chest to Nicolas Cage’s face.

This is truly a triumphant story. A man got a tattoo of Nicolas Cage’s face, eventually met the actor, had the actor sign the tattoo, and then got the autograph tattooed onto him. Not everyone is lucky enough to meet the people whose faces have been tattooed on them, so it was quick thinking on this fan’s part to take the portrait to the next level by adding the autograph.

It’s tough to say exactly what is going on with this tattoo. Nicolas Cage getting his head covered in bees is a pivotal scene from the atrocious The Wicker Man remake, as is what he screams the whole time, “Not the bees!” The accompanying rainbow and rocket jets are a bit of a mystery, but perhaps this fan knows something about an upcoming sequel that has yet to be announced.
