Jay Leno Returns For A Few Jokes On The Tonight Show

Last night, Jay Leno made a special appearance on the Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to tell a few monologue jokes. After Fallon playfully pulled a muscle and needed to tap out, Leno tagged in to deliver a few jokes aimed at the upcoming election and the presumptive presidential nominees Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.

Leno began the monologue joking, "According to the Social Security Administration the most popular baby names in 2016 are Noah and Emma. The Least popular baby names...Donald and Hillary." Leno spared neither candidate as he then made jokes at each of their expense individually.

Leno joked, "Hillary Clinton says she is the most transparent candidate in modern history. How many can see right through her?" The audience laughed as Leno later turned his attention towards Donald Trump joking, "There's actually a dating site for Trump's supporter's TrumpSingles.com, because sometimes screwing the entire country is just not enough."

Not only did he target the presumptive nominees, but also he included Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders in his monologue joking, "During an interview last week, Bernie Sanders admitted to smoking marijuana as a young man. He said it impaired his perception and distorted his thinking, but he expects that to clear up eventually."

Lastly, Leno directed his commentary towards President Barack Obama and the economy. He closed the segment with a round of jokes about the economy like, "The economy is so bad I saw Colonel Sanders eating fried chicken at the home town buffet."

The special appearance by Leno was well-accepted by the Tonight Show audience as they laughed and applauded for the former late night host as he briefly held down the fort for Jimmy Fallon.
