Cats truly do have nine lives. And Bart the cat is a prime example of using them all up, and some.

Bart was hit by a car in Tampa, Florida and thought to be dead. He was buried and that was supposed to be the end of that. It was not. He decided to keep kicking and literally rose out of his grave. Mangled and battered, Bart the cat survived and was ready to keep on keepin' on.

Bart was injured badly from the car hit. He had to be put on a feeding tube for seven weeks and lost an eye. But CEO of the Humane Society Sherry Silk was impressed with the little guy's human-sized spirit:

It was touch and go. He almost died. The first couple weeks our vets were giving him a 50-50 chance that he would make it. This cat had a spirit like no other and he was determined to live.

The story of Bart got around and people from all over the world ended up donating $9,000 to help cover his medical bills. Not only that, but Bart's foster family ended up adopting him.

Not even death could stop little Bart from living a full life.
