JAY-Z is the latest artist to pay tribute to late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington.

During his set at the Virgin V Festival in the United Kingdom, the "99 Problems" rapper played Linkin Park's "Numb" over the PA, while he led the crowd in a tribute to the singer, who committed suicide on July 20.

"If you know the song, sing along," he told the crowd. "Can I get some lights in here for Chester tonight?...Let's show some love for Chester tonight."

After the crowd erupted in a sing-along to the song's chorus, he then began to segue the song into one of his own, "Encore."

The "99 Problems" rapper might seem like an unexpected artist to pay tribute to Bennington, but the two collaborated several times throughout their careers.

Their friendship began when JAY and Linkin Park teamed up for Collision Course, a collaborative EP that mashed up both artists songs. They performed songs from the release several times over the years.

The most popular song from the EP was their mash-up of "Numb" and "Encore," which is why JAY played the tracks together at this show.

JAY-Z is currently in support of his album 4:44.

Bennington was laid to rest on July 29, with fans still mourning the loss of the singer.
