Filmmaker Joe Dante gave audiences one of the more unconventional Christmas classics with Gremlins, as well as films like The 'Burbs, Innerspace, and Matinee. The filmmaker's next project will be producing the film Camp Cold Brook, which stars Halloween staple Danielle Harris and House of Wax's Chad Michael Murray, as reported by Deadline. The film was written by Alex Carl.

The film's synopsis is as follows:

"Murray stars as reality TV producer and host Jack Wilson, who finds himself in a tough spot when his show is about to be cancelled. In a last ditch effort to spark ratings, he and his producers Angela (Harris) choose to film their next episode at the legendary Camp Cold Brook, which was host to a horrific incident where the young campers were drowned in a nearby creek 20 years ago. Their arrival begins like any other episode but the TV crew find that they get more than they bargained for."

In 1988, Harris made her feature film debut with Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers. The first two films in the franchise explained that the killer's motivations for his murders were to kill his sister, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, but failed to accomplish his mission by the end of the second film.

Halloween III: Season of the Witch was a complete departure from the Myers mythology, instead telling the story of a mask manufacturer that utilized ancient runes to kill anyone who wears one of their masks when a specific jingle was played. With fans disappointed that Myers had nothing to do with the film, Halloween III was a financial disappointment, causing the filmmakers to use its sequel to course-correct the Myers mythology. Harris played Jamie Lloyd, another relative of Michael's, giving him a new target.

Due to Halloween 4's success, Harris returned for Halloween 5, making her one of the few franchise stars to be featured in multiple installments. Additionally, the actress returned to the franchise as an adult for Rob Zombie's Halloween and Halloween II, as well as other horror films like Urban Legend, Stake Land, and Cyrus.

Murray developed a following for himself with early roles in One Tree Hill, Dawson's Creek, and Gilmore Girls, before going on to star in films like Fruitvale Station and A Cinderella Story. More recently, Murray starred in the short-lived Marvel's Agent Carter on ABC, in which he starred alongside Hayley Atwell.

Camp Cold Brook could be expected to be released in 2018.
