2017 has been quite a year for movies with films like Fast 8, Get Out, and Wonder Woman making huge waves at the box office. But it also almost makes you forget how 2007 was 10 years ago, and there were some mega movies back then as well.

It might even surprise you that some of the movies that were released in 2007 are actually kind of old. For example, did you know that it’s been 10 years since Spider-Man 3 was released in theaters?

Since then, the franchise has been rebooted with two films (The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014) and rebooted AGAIN just this year with Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Another film that hit the decade mark this year is Hot Fuzz, the second film from Edgar Wright’s “Cornetto Trilogy,” after Shaun of the Dead and before The World’s End. That movie paid homage to action movies in a way that no other film has been able to compare to. That is, until this year when Wright released Baby Driver and practically stole the summer box office.

Below, you’ll find a list of the greatest movies from 2007 that have officially reached their 10 year anniversary.

Superbad

Released:ย August 17, 2007

Starring:ย Jonah Hill, Michael Cera,ย Seth Rogen,ย Bill Hader,ย Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Emma Stone.

Superbad was somewhat of an anomalyย when it hit theaters. It opened at No. 1 and stayed there for a couple of weeks. The leads,ย Jonah Hill and Michael Cera, were not necessarily “unknowns,” but they weren’t A-list stars at this point by any means so this raunchy, coming-of-age flick somewhat became the American Pie of its generation.

Ultimately it brought in a box office total of an estimated $169.9 million on a budget of about $20 million, and many of it’s actorsย went on to be massive stars. Jonah Hill has since been nominated for multiple Academy and Golden Globe awards, and Emma Stone recently won awards for both for her performance in last years La La Land.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Released: July 11, 2007

Starring:ย Daniel Radcliffe,ย Rupert Grint,ย Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Warwick Davis, Ralph Fiennes,ย Michael Gambon,ย Brendan Gleeson.ย Jason Isaacs,ย Gary Oldman,ย Alan Rickman,ย Maggie Smith, David Thewlis, andย Emma Thompson.

Order of the Phoenix seesย Harry and his friends begin their fifth yearย atย Hogwarts, and noย sooner does that happen that Harry isย attacked by a group ofย Dementors.

The Harry Potter film series is iconic in way that other films may never achieve, and this fifth entry into the franchise was the second-biggest film of 2007 after grossingย $939.9 million. It was the first Harryย Potter film to be directed by David Yates, who went on to direct the remaining films in the series, as well as last year’s Harry Potter spin-off,ย Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Juno

Released:ย December 5, 2007

Starring:ย Ellen Page, Michael Cera,ย Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman,ย Allison Janney, andย J. K. Simmons.

Juno, much like Superbad, ended up being a massive surprise hit when it was released. It was made on a shoestring budget of somewhereย between $6.5 and $7.5 million, but brought inย $231.4 million. It was an amazing feat for a film that was predominantly indie.

Fans will remember the film revolved around a teen couple struggling with an unexpected pregnancy, ultimately deciding on adoption. Of course, things don’t go quite as planned. Juno earned multipleย Academyย Award nominations, including one for Ellen Page for Best Actress, and it took home the award for Best Original Screenplay. Hard to believe it’s already 10 years old.

No Country For Old Men

Released:ย Novemberย 9,ย 2007

Starring:ย Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin

No Country For Oldย Men is not just considered to be one of the best films of 2007. It’s considered, by many critics, to be one of the best films of the 21st century.

The Coen Brothers used this very dark thriller/drama to explore themesย like “fate, conscience, and circumstance.” Held together by brilliant performances from its three main stars,ย No Country For Old Men easily earnedย $171.6 million at the box office.

It paid off critically as well, as the movie earned numerous award nominations, including eight Oscar nominations. It won four of those awards, includingย Best Picture andย Best Director.

Transformers

Released:ย July 3, 2007

Starring:ย Shia LaBeouf,ย Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel,ย Anthony Anderson, Megan Fox, Rachael Taylor, John Turturro, andย Jon Voight

The first in a series of action-blockbusters, this first Transformers movie is still often considered to be the best one of the series. It catapulted the careers of Shiaย LaBeoufย and Megan Fox, and kickstartedย a franchise that’s brought in an estimatedย $4.4 billionย thus far.

Whether or not it seems like it was that long ago, Transformers is officially a decade old now, and just this year the newest entry into the series hit theaters, Transformers: The Last Knight.
