Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is the sequel to 2015’s Jurassic World, which saw Pratt’s character Owen Grady go head-to-head with the dinos running amok in the new Jurassic World theme park.
That film was directed by Colin Trevorrow, who returns to write and produce the film, but opted to take on directing duties for Star Wars: Episode IX rather than Fallen Kingdom.
Jurassic World raked in a revenue total of over one billion dollars, so the sequel certainly has big shoes to fill.

While Bayona may not be a highly recognizable name, he does have a small handful of well-regarded films which include: The Orphanage (2007), The Impossible (2012), and last years A Monster Calls.
Maybe the most exciting aspect of Fallen Kingdom, though, is that we know Jeff Goldblum is returning to the franchise as Ian Malcolm, the role he originated in the very first Jurassic Park film in 1993.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom will hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
