A How I Met Your Mother Reunion Could Be Happening Thanks To Jason Segel

For all the How I Met Your Mother fans out there, it may be time again to suit up!

On Sunday, actor Jason Segel said that he would be totally on board for a How I Met Your Mother reunion. While attending the Austin Film Festival, Segel said, "I'd be around for whatever those guys wanted to do. It changed my life."

When the 36-year-old actor was asked what direction he would like to see the story and characters go in, he wasn't quite sure.

"I would leave that to the writers," Segel said. "One of the great things about my relationship to that show is I never got involved in the writing, I just tried to execute what these brilliant writers did, so I would leave that to them, as usual."

In the series that ran from 2005 to 2014, Segel portrayed the goofy lawyer Marshall Eriksen alongside actors Josh Radnor (Ted Mosby), Cobie Smulders (Robin Scherbatsky), Neil Patrick Harris (Barney Stinson), and Alyson Hannigan (Lily Aldrin).

Segel is mostly known for his roles in comedy films and television shows, but recently he took on a much more serious character in the biopic The End of the Tour, as novelist David Foster Wallace. He received critical acclaim for his performance, but he said the decision to be in the movie was not at all about simply switching to drama over comedy. He felt that the material was more relatable in his life.

"So, in my twenties, I felt like Forgetting Sarah Marshall," Segel said. "That was sort of where I was operating from. It's a pretty honest depiction of where I was at 25 years old. And I've always had a bit of me that's Muppets. But I think I'm in my mid-thirties now and I'm just thinking about different stuff."
