Plus-Size Model Perfectly Sums up the Depressing Reality of Bikini Shopping

Most women groan at the thought of bikini shopping. Trying on ill-fitting swimsuits under unflattering fluorescent lighting in tiny boxes of fitting rooms is enough to send anyone running in the other direction — but if you don't happen to wear street-size clothing, the experience can be even worse.
British model Sonny Turner posted a few snaps while trying on swimsuits, addressing the many issues that "thick/plus-size" women have with the bikini industry. In the photos, we can see that the bikini doesn't fully support her breasts or cover her butt.
"NO ONE GETS IT," she wrote, explaining that it's almost impossible for women with her body type to easily find an inexpensive two-piece swimsuit that actually fits. She continued to list off helpful tips for swimsuit designers when creating suits for plus-size women.
Among her demands: more underwire support, cup sizes that correlate to bra sizes (and go past DD), more coverage, straps that aren't so tight, and a bigger selection of styles.

"We deserve more choice in the selection for our body type that isn't just the generic black swimsuit with a kimono," Turner wrote. "Believe it or not, some of us actually want a thong bikini, the whole selection doesn't have to be high waisted."
"It's not fair that we can't wear cute swimwear just because we are built differently," she wrote. "We deserve to walk into a store and pay £10 for a nice bikini without breaking the bank and our body confidence."
Preach, girl! Her post has since gone viral, gaining almost 20,000 likes and over 1,000 comments.
"THIS. THIS. THIS," wrote one commenter. "Been saying for years that real big boobs are neglected when it comes to swimwear. I paid £145 for a string bikini with underwire."
Another added, "HELL YES PREACH."
"Litterally [sic] the story of my life! Thanks for speaking up I hope it will bring some change!!!" wrote someone else.
Here's to loving your body despite what others tell you you're supposed to think — and we're hoping that the bikini industry gets Turner's memo ASAP.
