Mayans MC is officially on the way, and everyone is wondering if any Sons Of Anarchy characters will appear in the new series.

Folks keep throwing around Jax Teller’s name, hoping Charlie Hunnam will find a way to cameo in the new show. If you’ve forgotten the end of Sons Of Anarchy already, let’s be clear – Jax Teller is not coming back.

While we’re ruling out Jax’s return, there are plenty of other characters who could appear in the spin-off series. The show doesn’t involve the Sons in a starring role, and takes place hundreds of miles away from Charming, but there are still ways to work some fan favorite characters into the mix.

Here’s five Sons Of Anarchy characters who we think could make a comeback in Mayans MC.

Marcus Alvarez

The talk of the town leading up to the new Mayans MC series is whether or not Emilio Rivera will return to play Marcus Alvarez.

The character is the head of the entire Mayans organization, so inclusion makes sense. On top of that, Rivera has also expressed interest in returning to the role.

The only piece left in this puzzle is working Alvarez into the script in a reasonable fashion. If we’re taking a guess, he’ll be around when the show debuts this fall.

Montez

Montez was one of the last additions to the Redwood Original charter in Sons Of Anarchy, but he moved forward as a part of the club after Jax was gone.

Montez didn’t get much of a chance to become a prominent character in the original series, so Mayans MC could see him get some more development. His Latino background also adds to his chances of being featured on the show, as the new series aims to feature a Latino cast and crew.

If the mother-charter heads south, look for Montez to be featured.

Happy

Like Montez, Happy was a Nomad for the Sons Of Anarchy before settling down with Jax and the guys in charming. His heart for the road could be further explored in the new series.

Happy was one of the fans’ favorite characters in Sons Of Anarchy, so his return would be welcome. The character would also be a welcome act of comic relief when the themes of the show become too heavy.

Since David Labrava started on the show as a motorcycle club consultant to Kurt Sutter, his services could be useful in Mayans MC as well.

Nero

Nero entered Sons Of Anarchy in the later seasons and totally stole the show. The former gang leader showed the softer side of street violence, and gave an insight into what the life is like after you’ve tried to get out.

At the end of the series, Nero left Charming with Wendy and the Teller boys, and they all went to live happily ever after.

As Jax’s story taught us, there’s no such thing in this life. That being said, Nero could come in as a liason to the clubs and gangs in southern California – especially when they square off against the Cartel.

Chibs

If the Sons get involved in Mayans MC at all, expect to see at least a cameo from Chibs.

The character became the best friend of Jax Teller by the end of Sons Of Anarchy, and he took over his presidential duties following the finale. This means Chibs in charge of the entire SOA organization.

Even if a Sons charter in Southern California gets into serious dealings with the Mayans, the head honcho could show his face.
