Toby Keith is back with a brand new album entitled The Bus Songs, out Sept 8.
The 12-track effort sees the 56-year-old CMA Award winner taking on a joyous group of songs that were inspired by late-night writing sessions “in the back of his bus with a glass of Wild Shot mezcal nearby,” according to a press release.

The songs are said to focus on adult humor, drinking and self-deprecation. That seems in-line with most of the song titles on the album, such as “S—-y Golfer,” “Rum is the Reason” and the lead single, “Wacky Tobaccy.”
Aside from originals, it will also feature new versions taken from throughout his discography, including “Runnin’ Block,” “Ballad Of Balad,” “Hell No” and “The Critic” and a new live version of “Weed With Willie.”

It appears two of the tracks have been previously released. “Rum is the Reason” is the same version that appeared on 2015’s 35 mph Town and the live version of “Get Out Of My Car” is taken from 2012’s Hope On The Rocks.
Keith kicked off the Bus Songs album cycle with a music video for “Wacky Tobaccy,” which is all about marijuana. The video leans into the subject matter with a ton of drug references and an appearance from Keith’s “Beer For My Horses” collaborator, Willie Nelson.
Keith is currently on the “Interstates & Tailgates Tour,” which includes stops in Nashville, Atlanta, Brooklyn and many more.
