Marc Anthony Reveals the Devastating Loss of His Mother

Marc Anthony is mourning the loss of his mother, Guillermina Quinones, after she passed away on Thursday. The 48-year-old singer took to social media to share the heartbreaking news, and express how much he is “going to miss” his mother.

“Today at 12:10 pm my family’s hero, our rock, our protector, inspiration and now ANGEL passed away,” Anthony tweeted. “She left in peace, accompanied by all your prayers and well wishes for which we thank you all. Mami, I’m going to miss you so much!”

According to Univision, Anthony’s mother was hospitalized at a medical facility in Puerto Rico. The “You Sang To Me” hitmaker would visit her regularly with his girlfriend, Raffaella Modugno.

On Sunday, the Puerto Rican star tweeted out to his followers to send well wishes for his mother. “Please pray for my mom today. I love you mommy,” he wrote.

Currently, Anthony is in the middle of his Full Circle Tour. His next scheduled events are in Bogota, Colombia on August 4 and in Medellin on August 5. There has been no word if any of the dates are going to be rescheduled in light of his mother’s passing.

Anthony was previously married to Shades of Blue actress Jennifer Lopez. The two married in June of 2004 and saw their twins born in February of 2008.

Ultimately, the pair split in 2011 and their divorce was finalized in 2014. They have remained close for the sake of co-parenting their children and even put aside their differences to work on new music together this year.
