Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez might be dating for several months now, but the two took the next step in their relationship by celebrating their birthdays together this weekend with a very stylish and lavish bash.
Sharing the star sign of Leo, the two traveled to Miami on Saturday to ring in their birthdays with family, friends and a whole lot of elegance. While Lopez turns 48 on Monday, her former New York Yankees beau will turn 42 this Thursday. With birthdays so close in range, it’s no secret that the two would pull their parties together for one big shindig and go all out for a night that’s both memorable and sexy.

On Saturday, Rodriguez, took to Instagram to share a series of images from their party via Instagram Stories, sharing video and images from their big night.

In one of the photographs shared to his profile, the two are seen smiling for the camera with Rodriguez dressed in a sharp blue suit with no tie, while Lopez dons a gorgeous in a black semi-sheer cutout Bao Tranchi mini dress.
From the looks of all the media they shared to their social profiles, the two partied with family members, children and a little more than 50 friends, including Lopez’s backup dancers and co-stars from her NBC cop drama, Shades of Blue.
In one of the images Rodriguez shared, Lopez is seen smiling as she stands next to a towering six-tier birthday cake, decorated with gold and silver embellishments and white roses.
In an interview with Extra this past June, Rodriguez said one of the most important dynamics to his relationship with Lopez was communication. Though their schedules are hectic, the pair try to be inseparable.
“If you want to be together you are together,” he said. “Our kids get along really well, we’re both from New York, we’re both Latin, we’re both in our forties, we’re really enjoying life, but she really is one of the most impressive and smartest human beings I have ever met.”
The pair can also be seen singing along to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline,” as well as a Spanish song with cute footage shared to various family member accounts, and it is evident that the two are definitely not shy.
Lopez is equally smitten with Rodriguez, telling Extra he is “beautiful person” and “loving father” to his two daughters, Natasha, 12, and Ella, 9.
“He’s a generous human being with his family, with his friends, with me,” she added. “He’s caring and sweet and capable and responsible and just all the beautiful things you would want a man to be. I feel really lucky right now, so I’m excited about life, but I’m more excited for people to get to see who he really is.”
With this past weekend proving he’s a fun loving and romantic guy, the two celebrated their birthdays with a lot of dancing. Not only was Lopez getting down on the dance floor, but Rodriguez did as well, with the two looking very happy with one another as they danced the night away.
This past June, Lopez gushed about Rodriguez to James Corden on his late night talk show, The Late Late Show, saying “he’s the best.”
“You would love him. Honestly, he’s a great guy,” she said. “He’s fun, he’s awesome.”
Corden asked if she too calls him A-Rod like everyone else, she said she simply refers to the 41-year-old former baseball player as Alex. But the host was quite inquisitive as to how the pair ended up on their first date, asking if there was a “secret room for really famous, really hot and attractive, successful people where they just go on dates” that he doesn’t know about.
Laughing some more, Lopez revealed she actually just tapped him on the shoulder and said, “Hi.”
Of course, he prodded further and asked, “Should I go on a date with A-Rod, where would he take me?”
The mother of two smiled coyly saying, “It’s just normal. We just went to dinner.”
The retired baseball pro confirmed their relationship status during an appearance on The View earlier this spring and ever since, the lovebirds have been traveling all over the U.S. But Miami happens to be their favorite spot together.
Lopez has recently taken multiple trips to Miami with beau Rodriguez. A source recently told PEOPLE that the mother of twins is on “another level” when it comes to the former MLB star’s girlfriends.
“She’s amazing. She comes to this dinner and there are 20 people there, a lot of sports celebs and big guys in the business, and she can sit right down with them and start talking sports,” the source said. “She loves baseball.”
Rodriguez, 41, ended his relationship with Silicon Valley CEO Anne Wojcicki in February after almost a year of dating. The baseball player is not a newcomer to dating famous A-list stars. He previously dated Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz.
PEOPLE reports the Shades of Blue star ended things with Drake this year, but according to a source the two were never in an official relationship.
“It was and is fun when they see each other,” the source said. “[Lopez and Rodriguez] love hanging out and making music together. She has great respect for him and his talent and he does for her as well.”
