Actress Reveals She’s Been on Mounjaro for 2 Years

Vanessa Williams is opening up about her use of a “game-changer” weight-loss drug.

The Ugly Betty actress, 62, revealed in a new interview with Hello! Magazine published Monday that she’s been taking tirzepatide – the GLP-1 drug better known as Mounjaro – for two years.

“It’s a game‑changer,” she told the outlet. “When I turned 60, I was like: ‘I want to be here for a long time, and I want to look my best. So what am I going to do?’”

Williams explained that her 50s were “hard” after she started perimenopause in her late 40s. “Suddenly, at 51, it’s crazy how your body changes,” she shared. “You feel out of control because you’re working out the same way, eating the same, and your body is not reacting the way it used to.”

The Desperate Housewives actress also started Hormone Replacement Therapy in order to feel more like herself and started NAD+ injections, which are said to promote cell energy and reduce signs of aging.

“Science is amazing,” she said. “I’m like: ‘What’s next? Bring it on!’”

Keeping herself looking young, Williams also told Hello! she’s been having a facial treatment called P5 that involves polynucleotides, hyaluronic acid and an updated version of the “vampire facial,” in which one’s own blood is extracted and spun to separate the platelet-rich fibrin before being injected back into the face.

“I’ve done it three times and definitely see a difference,” she said.

Williams also uses a handheld Ziip device, which connects to her phone and had settings for tightening, plumping, contouring and even fighting spots. “It was created by the make-up artist Melanie Simon, who I worked with when I was doing Desperate Housewives,” the actress shared. “She sent me one and I’ve been using it for 15 years.”

Williams may be looking and feeling her best, but the three-time divorcee isn’t necessarily out on the dating scene right now. “We’ll see what happens in the future,” she said of her love life. “I believe in love, and I love being in love, but I’m not desperate for love. It happens when it’s meant to happen.”

She added, “There’s an ease and wisdom that comes with age. It’s just delightful to still be in the game.”
