Us Weekly reports that the ABC star and his wife of 11 years welcomed their second child, a baby girl in Sydney, Australia on August 1.

While Samodanova gave birth down under, Savchenko tells the publication he was stuck in the air for 15 hours after hopping on a plane from Los Angeles and heading to Sydney, where the couple splits their time between the two cities.
But the 33-year-old says he wasn’t freaking out one bit at the delay or missing the birth; he was just excited to get to the hospital and be with his wife and 6-year-old daughter, Olivia, in welcoming their family’s newest addition, Zlata.
“You try to put yourself in the zone like, ‘OK โ you can’t do anything on a plane!’” he said. “I was standing in the airport getting my luggage and it was a mix of feelings. I was emotional and so happy.”
A rep for the family tells Us Weekly that Savchenko was released from touring with the Dancing With the Stars troupe this summer and that he, his wife and Zlata are doing well, while big sister Olivia couldn’t be happier.
In an interview with The Sun earlier this year, Savchenko said family is one of his biggest priorities.
“I think my family is more important than fame,” he said. “My wife needs to feel loved and I want to see my daughter grow up.”
While Savchenko doesn’t mind being outnumbered by girls for now, he’s game to keep trying for a son, telling Us that his wife might need more convincing though.
“When I said to Elena, ‘Let’s do another one!’ she looked at me like, ‘Are you crazy?’ ” he confessed. “So I think we’ll wait a bit, and if it’s a girl again, we’ll try for a fourth.”
However, according to his wife, “Three is definitely the right number.”

Groundhog Day is a popular tradition in the United States and Canada. If Punxsutawney Phil sees his shadow he regards it as an omen of six more weeks of bad weather and returns to his den.
