Ivanka Trump may have been “trumped” for what she said at the Republican National Convention. Apparently, her claim that her father would support working mothers, is not the reality and policy with her own Ivanka Trump fashion line, The Hollywood Reporter states.

At the RNC, Ivanka argued a case for her father Donald Trump, telling the working mothers of America what they wanted to hear, that Donald would support moms in the workforce.

“As president, my father would change the labor laws that were put in place at a time when women were not a significant portion of the work force,” Ivanka, clad in one of her own designs, said. “He will focus on making quality childcare affordable and accessible for all, ” and that, “Policies that allow women with children to thrive should not be novelties. They should be the norm.”

However, The Washington Post reports that an anonymous fashion designer from the G-III Apparel Group, licensed by Ivanka’s line, revealed that according to the Family and Medical Leave Act fo 1993 for businesses with at least 50 workers, the company only allows 12 weeks for unpaid leave.

In a statement to the post, the employee shared their distress with the fashion line post pregnancy.

“It’s hard enough emotionally to come back to work right after having a baby,” the designer told the Post. “But to know you’re returning to a company that doesn’t value your choice to be a mother makes it harder.”

In contradiction, Ivanka stated to Business Insider in March that her company offers eight weeks of paid time off for new mothers.

“I think parental leave is enormously important โ€” and it’s a personal decision. Part of building a company whose goal is to empower women in all aspects of life is that I’ve given my team some leeway to determine what parental leave looks like for each of them individually.”

A fashion line that brands itself as “the ultimate destination for Women Who Work,” there is a massive disconnect between the workers and the CEO. Ivanka’s releasing a new book around this image โ€” titled Women Who Work: Rewriting the Rules for Success โ€” that centers around that motto.

When asked for a response from the G-III fashion line, they did not immediately respond for a request to comment.
