Celebrity Couples That Have Called It Quits in 2017

Even though it’s only August, there have already been a bevy of celebrity breakups in 2017. Some of Hollywood’s most famous duos have decided to call it quits this year.

From pop musicians to reality TV couples, a slew of stars are now living the single life. While some of the breakups were mutual, there were others that didn’t end on such great terms.

First up: Chris Pratt and Anna Faris.

Pratt and Faris are the most recent celebrity couple to call off their relationship. The actors were married for eight years and share an 4-year-old son together, Jack. Unfortunately, the two couldn’t seem to make it work after giving it their best efforts.

The two announced their separation on Sunday with the Guardians of the Galaxy star taking to his Facebook page to announce their decision.

“Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating. We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed. Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward. We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another,” Pratt wrote.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom

After dating for about a year, the “Roar” songstress and her Pirates of the Caribbean actor former beau called it quits.

When their breakup was announced on March 1, their reps released a statement saying the two are “taking respectful, loving space at this time.”

“Before rumors or falsifications get out of hand we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are taking respectful, loving space at this time,” their reps said in a statement.

A source told E! News that Perry “pulled the plug.”

“It was a few events that happened over the past few months. They both still love each other very much, though, and getting back together could happen once they have some space,” the source said.

Amber Rose and Val Chmerkovskiy

Amber Rose and Val Chmerkovskiy dated for five months before going their separate ways in February. Even though they broke up, the model and her Dancing With the Stars pro ex-boyfriend ended things on good terms.

Following their split, Rose, 33, took to social media to speak out about their relationship.

“And to the awesome person I got to spend the past five months with (Val),” Rose wrote while confessing that the two, “broke up due to our own personal reasons but we still love each other’s families even more.”

“Please understand that we are all human and we have feelings too,” she wrote in conclusion. “Nobody got dumped and nothing over here is malicious it’s just how life works sometimes.”

Malika Haqq and Ronnie Ortiz-Magro

The flames of love burned for only two months before Jersey Shore alum Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and ex-girlfriend Malika Haqq split.

“The Famously Single couple did not have the commonality it takes for a lasting relationship,” a source close to Haqq said while talking with E! News. “Malika ended it after only two months.”

“We had a lot in common from the start and it was an instant friendship. The attraction quickly became a mutual romance. Our support for one another through this challenging experience made us strong in a very short period of time. We had an opportunity to really get to know each other living in such close quarter,” the pair’s statement said.

Chris Evans and Jenny Slate

Chris Evans and Jenny Slate broke off their relationship in March of this year. The 35-year-old actress says that her Captain America star former beau was a “different speed” than she is.

“We’re not on bad terms, but we haven’t really seen each other, spoken a lot,” Slate said during an interview with Vulture. “I think it’s probably best. I’d love to be his friend one day, but we threw down pretty hard. No regrets, though. Ever.”

Part of the problem for Slate was that she didn’t feel fully recovered from her divorce from her ex-husband before dating her Gifted co-star Evans, 36.

“Even though we had an amicable divorce, I think that’s still something that you need to mourn. When you get separated from somebody that you actually care about, it is the destruction of a belief system. That is really, really sad,” she said. “I just didn’t have the tools. And I didn’t think very hard about that, to be honest.”

Savannah Chrisley and Blaire Hanks

Savannah Chrisley, the daughter of Todd Chrisley and star of Chrisley Knows Best, broke up with her longtime boyfriend Blaire Hanks after two years of dating in January of this year.

“All of you guys are so invested in my family and our lives and I feel like when we signed up for the show, we gave you a promise to show you our lives and to be as honest as we can about it and that’s just what I’m trying to do now,” she said during a Facebook Live video.

“So to cut to the point…Blaire and I are no longer dating. It hurts, it does because for me he was that definition of just my first true love and I’m trying to stay strong y’all,” she added.
