Ryan Reynolds Says Blake Lively Is "Extraordinarily Pregnant" and Can't Hike With Him

"Yeah, ya know, [I] just played a little Lionel Richie, and the mood hit!" Ryan Reynolds jokingly told PEOPLE about the conception of his second child with wife Blake Lively. The couple already have one daughter, who is currently her dad's little hiking partner.

"I'm a big outdoorsman. My relationship with the outdoors is a long, storied one and something I value greatly," Reynolds said. "I love doing it with my family. I take my daughter with me all the time on hikes. My wife is just extraordinarily pregnant, so there's not a lot of hiking going on, which I'm told is my fault!"

This love of the outdoors is not only something that he shares with his family, but it also moved Reynolds to partner with Eddie Bauer and American Forests. The British Columbia, Canada native grew up with an appreciation for nature and had a childhood surrounded by the outdoors that he hopes his children, and many future generation can continue to enjoy.

"I like to think that this movement is galvanized enough that we can actually turn back the clock on some of the damage we've done and really create a space in the world that our kids can enjoy and experience what we experienced when we were young, their age," he said.

Reynolds is doing what he can now to help give his daughter that same experience with nature. And soon then entire family will be able to enjoy the great outdoors together – just as soon as their next little one arrives.
