'Fixer Upper's First Bachelor Shares the Cute Way the Show Has Changed His Life

He's Fixer Upper famous. The first single guy to appear on the home makeover show has become a sort of celebrity in Waco, Texas and that means his phone is ringing off its hook.

Just like Joanna Gaines warned former model, David Ridley, his appearance on the show brought him a lot of new attention.

"I don't go anywhere without people saying something," he told Country Living. "People do double takes, stop and point, take pictures when I'm not looking."

Ridley modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch and Ralph Lauren in New York City, so he is used to the spotlight, but the other change that the show brought along is a little harder to get used to.

"I gained about 8,000 followers on social media," he said. "I've had moms, grandmas who write in or call my office and want to set me up with their daughter and granddaughter."

While he's always happy to meet new people and show them his house, he does like the fact that he found someone who isn't into him for the Gaines's designs. He revealed he is dating someone and the best part is "she's not impressed with me that I was on the show or with my house, which is super refreshing."
