Jon Snow’s true parentage
Fans have been speculating for months that Jon Snow is, in fact, a Targaryen, and that theory was cemented during Sunday’s finale when Sam and Bran put their heads together to figure out that Rhaegarย Targaryenย didn’t actually rape and kidnap Lyannaย Stark as everyone thought, but rather, the two eloped and married after Rhaegarย had his marriage toย Elia Martellย annulled.
As a result, their son, Jon โ whose real name was revealed to be Aegonย Targaryenย โ is actually the true heir to the Iron Throne, usurping Daenerys, who was confirmed to be his aunt…

Jon and Dany get together
…which only made Jon and Daenerys finally getting together all the more uncomfortable for some fans, although there are still plenty rooting for the twoย Targaryen, whose family has a history of incest.
Throughout the season, Jon and Danyย grew closer and closer after their first meeting, with Jon eventually bending the knee to Daenerysย and pledging his loyalty to her as his Queen. ย
As Bran and Sam were making the discovery of Jon’s true parentage, Jon also personally pledged himself to Daenerys, with the two getting together on the boat they were traveling on. It’s safe to say things are going to get complicated when the duo find out that Jon is actually a Targaryenย and the true heir to the Iron Throne, a seatย Daenerysย believes is rightfully hers.

Jaime leaving Cersei
During the episode, Cersei,ย Daenerys, Jon Snow and Tyrionย came together to try and negotiate a truce to help fend off the White Walkers, because fighting over thrones doesn’t exactly matter when there’s an army of zombies heading your way.
Whileย Cerseiย told the others she would help them, she was, naturally, lying, something her twin brother Jaime quickly discovered. He disagreed with her, and she threatened to kill him, but he called her bluff and left King’s Landing.
With this gesture, it appears Jaime may have finally plucked up the courage to leave his toxic relationship, although we won’t know for sure until Season 8.

Littlefinger’s death
With Arya seemingly on trial, Littlefingerย thought he was safe until Sansa gave fans what they had been waiting for and turned the tables on Petyrย Baelish, accusing him ofย murder and treason with some help from her siblings.
Sansa also brought up the fact that he had betrayed her father, Ned Stark, and turned other members of her family against each other and had been attempting to do the very same to her and Arya, something the sisters caught on to and used to their advantage.
Littlefinger’s pleas for help were denied, and Sansaย thanked him for all the lessons he taught her before Aryaย sliced his throat, giving him a painful and well-deserved death.

The Night King destroying the wall
After the Night King captured Daenerys’ dragon Viserionย in season 6 and reanimated him,ย fans knew something bad was bound to happen with the White Walkers now in possessionย of a zombie dragon.
The Wall had stood for thousands of years, but Viserion’s ice-blue fire destroyed a massive swath in just minutes, forcing the Night’s Watch to run for cover as the resurrected dragon did his worst.
The dramatic ending has officially left the door open for the White Walkers to enter Westeros, and only time will tell how far they get in their mission.
