Internet Reacts to The McGregor vs. Mayweather Fight

Tonight’s epic fight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather has been highly anticipated for months now, but now we know that Floyd Mayweather has come out on top and the internet is going crazy.

Boxing and MMA fans took to Twitter to share their feelings about the match and the winner.

First up, there was there terribly inconvenient delay…

Then pop-sensation Demi Lovato came out to sing the Star-Spangled Banner.

Finally, people were ready for it to start!

Floyd Mayweather came out in a black ski mask and people had thoughts about it…

Finally, the match kicked off, and fans were thrilled.

Ultimately though, there had to be a winner, and Twitter responded appropriately to the victory.

Diddy

Back 2015, Diddy won a $250,000 bet against Mark Wahlberg over the outcome of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight.

So, it stands to reason, the hip-hop mogul tossed his support back over to Mayweather again this time around.

In a recent commercial for the big fight, Diddy and Wahlberg throw on some gloves and hop into the ring themselves while talking about their picks.

Diddy exuberantly says that he’s rooting for “Money Mayweather, baby,” before exclaiming, “I’m going with the champ.”

Mike Tyson

Boxing legend Mike Tyson chose Mayweather over Mcgregor, but he has a professional-based opinion for why.

Tyson thought that McGregor didn’t stand a “chance” against Mayweather because boxing rules don’t allow for his mixed martial arts skills.

“McGregor is going to get killed boxing,” Tyson said in a podcast interview.

He added, “McGregor put his dumba– in a position where he’s gonna get knocked out because this guy’s been doing this all his life, since he was a baby. McGregor can’t kick and grab and stuff so he won’t stand much of a chance.”

Interestingly, back in 2015, Tyson called Mayweather a “scared little man” after Mayweather referred to himself as “TBE (The Best Ever)” while also comparing himself to Muhammad Ali.

50 Cent

World-famous rapper 50 Cent is a committed Floyd Mayweather fan.

Last month, 50 shared a screenshot photo on Instagram of himself and Mayweather having a video chat, captioning it with, “It’s 50, champ about to be 50-0, and the Little leprechaun is just the 50th Victim. Floyd said I’m a put the hand ? of God on that boy. LOL.”

Part of 50’s commitment to Mayweather probably has to do with the fact that he and McGregor have a feud going that allegedly started when the UFC fighter took some shots at him during one of the fight’s press conferences.

50 fired back by posting a video of McGregor’s comments along with the caption, “what the f— wrong wit this white boy, you fighting Floyd not me fool. LOL.”
