Taylor Swift’s Social Media Accounts Have Gone Dark and Fans Are Freaking Out

Taylor Swift fans have been anxiously awaiting new music from the singer for years, and recent activity from the star’s social media accounts has many thinking they might just be getting their wish.

On Friday, Swift’s social media accounts including her Twitter page, Instagram page, Tumblr page and website went suspiciously dark, with her profile photos disappearing as well as a host of content from multiple platforms.

Based on the singer’s previous announcements and secretive nature, fans are convinced something major is happening — keep scrolling to take a look at the evidence.

‘1989’

Swift’s last album, 2014’s 1989, was announced three years ago on Friday Aug. 18. The singer is known for her love of signals and signs, and fans are taking this perhaps-not-so-coincidental date as a sign that the 27-year-old is finally releasing her long-awaited sixth studio album.

While Swift previously released albums on a two year cycle, the three years since 1989 mark the longest the singer has gone since releasing a new LP since her debut in 2006. 

‘Blank Space’

As of Friday, Swift’s social media accounts have turned into literal blank spaces, with the star’s photos and content being removed from many of her platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr and her official website.

Commence freakout

Naturally, the star’s unusual move has many fans shook, with many taking to social media to voice their excitement for a possible announcement from Swift.
