Daniel Craig is reportedly signing up to reprise his role as James Bond. The 49-year-old actor is possibly on the verge of agreeing to appear in not one but two more films as the British spy in the popular franchise.

The negotiations are being spearheaded by producer Barbara Broccoli. In the event that Craig portrays 007 for the franchise’s upcoming 25th and 26th films, it will make six films for him as the world’s most famous secret agent.

“There was plenty of talk about who would be the next Bond but Barbara has managed to talk Daniel into two more films,” an insider said while speaking with The Sun.

“He is loved by audiences around the world and has driven a real resurgance for the movies at the box office, so bosses knew they couldn’t lose him just yet,” the source continued.

The producers have been in a rush to get Craig attached to the film with production soon to be underway.

“The script is nearly ready for the 25th film, provisionally titled Shatterhand and scheduled to be released in November 2019, so there is no time to waste on getting Daniel locked in,” the insider said.

After the 25th film, the franchise could be returning to familiar territory with a remake of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. The original film starred George Lazenby and was his only appearance as the agent.

“But the deal is almost done and the idea of returning to On Her Majesty’s Secret Service for the 26th movie is really exciting,” the source said.
