ABC is still in talks with Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki to return for the upcoming Roseanne revival, ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said Sunday at the 2017 TCA Summer Press Tour.

Since the Roseanne revival was announced there has been speculation as to what the cast for the upcoming season would look like. Dungey revealed that Galecki may return though nothing has been confirmed, Deadline reports.

"Those conversations are still in progress," Dungey said.

Galecki appeared on the ABC sitcom for six seasons as David Healy, love interest of Becky Conner, who was played by Sara Gilbert. Dungey gave no update on the status of the Becky-David relationship.

Schedule could be a factor in Galecki's return to Roseanne. The actor recently signed on for two more seasons of CBS's Big Bang Theory and is also serving as executive producer for the upcoming CBS comedy By the Book, which is slated for midseason and could possibly compete against the Roseanne revival.

In addition to questions regarding Galecki's status, Dungey also addressed questions of the fate of John Goodman's Dan Conner, who was revealed to be dead in the show's season finale in 1997.

"I can confirm that Dan is still alive," Dungey said.

Roseanne originally ran from 1988 to 1997 on ABC. Shooting for the revival is slated to begin in October and the new season is expected to air on ABC in 2018.
