Ric Flair Names His Top 4 Performers in WWE Right Now

Ric Flair wrestled for nearly 40 years. He owns the sport’s record for a number of championship reigns. He was one of the first wrestlers to pummel the wall between professional wrestling pop culture. In every sense of the word, Ric Flair is a legend.

So when he gives his opinion about WWE, we’d be fools to not listen. But when he names his top 4 wrestlers in the company right now, it’s practically gold.

While promoting his upcoming ’30 for 30′ documentary with ESPN, Flair spoke with GameSpot. When asked to list his favorite wrestlers, The Nature Boy gave a decisive 4 names (in no particular order). And none of them was named John Cena.

Randy Orton

“Orton is just one of the most gifted guys I’ve ever seen. Orton brings the whole package. He’s 6’4″, phenomenal body, he’s a good talker and a phenomenal in-ring performer.”

Flair might be a little biased as he and Orton shared some time in the “Evolution” stable with Triple H and Bautista. Regardless, The Viper is no stranger to making esoteric lists like Flair’s. The 3rd generation superstar is nauseatingly natural in a wrestling ring. Maybe that’s why WWE has given him 13 Championship runs. 

Seth Rollins

“Seth Rollins is the same, just a little bit smaller.”

While declaring “samzies” on the Kingslayer in comparison to Orton may seem like a cheap compliment, it’s not. Orton’s WWE sample size is vastly larger than Rollins, so for Seth to have already made this kind of the impression on The Nature Boy speaks volumes. 

Now, if we could just get Rollins a decent finisher.   

AJ Styles

“A.J. is close to being Shawn Michaels in terms of work ethic. He’s really good and his interviews have gotten better.”

The Phenomenal One has taken WWE by storm in just a little over 18 months. Having already been a WWE Champion, a 2-time US Champion in such a short time, Styles has cemented himself as a main eventer as long as he pleases. 

Charlotte Flair

“And then, my daughter…I’m not pushing her. She doesn’t need me to push her. You’ve seen her, she’s real good. The other girls just have a hard time keeping up with her.”

Just because it’s biased doesn’t make it untrue! As good as Sasha Banks or Alexa Bliss may be, Charlotte is exponentially better. Having already proved herself as a top heel, Charlotte is on WWE’s next step: trying to become a babyface. How could we expect her not to succeed at that? She’s already the greatest women’s wrestler in history.
