After celebrating her bachelorette party, Kacey Musgraves took her followers back into her childhood when she revealed a series of photos from her adolescence.
Musgraves posted one photo to Instagram that showed her as a pre-teen in some major cowgirl wear. She’s rocking black cowboy boots, red jeans and a large cowboy hat while she plays with a hula hoop.

The throwbacks didn’t stop there. The “Follow Your Arrow” singer-songwriter took to Twitter to share another round of photos.

“I was country when country wasn’t cool,” she wrote alongside the post.
In the three additional shots, Musgraves is posing for some glamour shots and showcasing her blossoming music skills.
In the first, she’s shown belting out a song in some fringe-heavy Western wear, complete with a red cowboy hat.
The red hat returns in another one of the photos. Musgraves is shown holding a mandolin while sporting some sparkling polka dots on her outfit.
The mandolin sparked Nickel Creek/Punch Brothers member Chris Thile to chime in to ask about it.
“Mando was my first instrument then I realized I could never be you,” Musgraves replied, adding a laughing emoji. She also shared an additional throwback picture of her and “a pretty sick Rigel” mandolin.
