If you thought the Indominous Rex was scary, the newest Jurassic World dino has the potential to put it to shame.
This week, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom wrapped principal photography in Hawaii, making the film one step closer to its 2018 release. To celebrate, producer Colin Trevorrow shared a photo of director JA Bayona, and it teases a terrifying new dinosaur for the heroes of the franchise to deal with.

The photo shows Bayona looking through the teeth of the monster. Those teeth are actually what give away the fact that this creature hasn’t been seen before. The chompers depicted here jet out at odd angles, and there isn’t exactly a pattern to how they appear in the dinosaur’s mouth. This is the opposite of the Indominous Rex, whose teeth were fairly uniform in their pattern.
Jurassic World 2 Has Wrapped Filming
So, it’s likely this new dinosaur is another kind of hybrid. Dr. Henry Wu was responsible for creating the abomination that terrorized park-goers in the first Jurassic World film, and he is still alive heading into the sequel. There’s a great chance this dinosaur could be one of his monstrosities.
The photo also gives away a slight plot detail if you pay close enough attention. Bayona and the dino are in a cage.
This could mean one of two things. Either the dinosaurs are finally being weaponized, or someone’s moving them to a new location.
Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is set to hit theaters on June 22, 2018.
