Natalee Holloway disappeared during a class trip to Aruba over 12 years ago, and to this day, no one is sure what happened to her. Ever since, Holloway's parents haven't stopped looking for answers, and her father, Dave Holloway, is at the center of a new television series focusing on what exactly happened to the 18-year-old during that fateful vacation.

The Oxygen series, titled The Disappearance of Natalee Holloway, follows Dave's search for clarity in Natalee's disappearance, which many people attribute to Joran van der Sloot, one of the last people to see the teen alive. He has not faced trial in relation to Natalee's disappearance.

"Twelve years and we still have nothing — until now," Dave says in a clip of the series shared by People. "This lead, we have a person who states that he was directly involved in disposing of Natalee's remains."

"This could be it," he said.

The series follows Dave as he pursues a lead he received in 2015, a man who claimed to be roommates with a man who knows where Natalee is buried.

"This series gives viewers rare access to Dave Holloway's gut-wrenching search for answers," Oxygen executive Rod Aissa said in a statement. "He embarks on an immersive journey full of twists, turns and, most considerably, a new lead that could deliver justice for Natalie once and for all."

The series premieres Saturday, Aug. 19.
