Natalee Holloway went missing 11 years ago while on a trip to Aruba with friends in 2005 after her high school graduation, and her mother is still seeking justice for her daughter's disappearance. Holloway was last seen in Peru with Joran Van Der Sloot outside a bar, and while Van Der Sloot is one of the chief suspects in Holloway's disappearance, nothing has ever been proven.

In an appearance on TODAY Monday morning, Holloway's mother, Beth Holloway, shared that she feels justice has not yet been served for her daughter, but she is hopeful that one day it will happen.

"I have my answer as to what happened to Natalee, and he's sitting in prison in Peru," Holloway said.

Van Der Sloot was arrested multiple times in connection with Natalee's disappearance but was never charged, and the Dutch man is now serving 28 years in prison in Peru for the 2010 murder of Stephany Flores. He has confessed to Natalee's murder in multiple videos through the years, but her mother has dismissed them as publicity stunts.

"Justice is being served for Stephany Flores, thank God," she said. "And he is in prison in Peru. But justice has not been served for Natalee. That would be justice to me, to see him serve prison time in the United States. That would be justice for Natalee."

After Van Der Sloot serves his sentence for Flores' murder, he will face charges in the United States after being accused of extorting money from Holloway's family in exchange for false information about the location of Natalee's remains.

Holloway, who snuck into the prison in Peru in 2010 to confront Van Der Sloot, says it won't be difficult for her to wait for his sentence to end.

"No, it's not gonna be hard,'' she said. "I take great comfort. I left him in a prison in Peru, so I feel good about that."
