Dierks Bentley is hoping to kick one of his bad habits by taking a vacation from it, and we can’t blame him for trying.
The country crooner took to Instagram Monday letting fans and followers know that he would be going phone-free for some time with an image of a table full of gadgets like a voice recorder, camera, tablet, notebook and a charming vintage typewriter.

“Taking a vacation….from my IPHONE! Wish me luck,” he wrote. “‘Packing’ everything [I’m] gonna need for the experience ha. Amazing how much you can do with the iPhone, but equally amazing what an addictive little device it is.”
The 41-year-old adds that sometimes having a phone by his side feels like the “never ending blitzkrieg of news, info, etc. is sucking any intelligent thought out of my brain,” joking that “there isn’t too much in there to begin with!”
Before letting fans know he was serious and would update them with his progress, he quipped, “Thinking the typewriter might be a little over the top.”
Bentley is setting his sights on a cross-country tour across the U.S. this July, including the highly anticipated, Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 7.
