The usually hilarious talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is having to defend herself against accusations of racism after tweeting a photo of her and Usain Bolt that is thought to have crossed a line.

Entertainment Weekly reports DeGeneres, who is constantly keeping us laughing with the photos she hilariously edits herself into, photoshopped herself on Usain Bolt’s back as he sprints to the finish with the caption, “This is how I’m running errands from now on.”

A seemingly innocuous joke playing on Bolt’s insane speed and skill, but one that is being called racist and insensitive by Twitter users.
In response to the backlash DeGeneres stated, “I am highly aware of the racism that exists in our country. It is the furthest thing from who I am.”
The original photo of Bolt smiling and running went viral on it’s own accord.
Do you think the photo is problematic, Womanistas?
