Note to all Slipknot fans: DO NOT text during one of the band’s concerts. Lead singer Corey Taylor smacked a phone out of a fan’s hands after he noticed him texting during the performance.

The masked rocker noticed the fan texting on the front row, and then bent down in front of him in the middle of a song to slap the phone out of his hands. Fellow concert-goers caught the incident on camera and posted it all over social media.

Lead singer Corey Taylor defended his actions on Twitter. One tweet he sent out on Sunday stated: “If you’re gonna text, stay at home.” He also mentioned, “You might wanna do it between sets or between songs.”

Taylor believed the fan was not angered, and insisted that there were no hard feelings. “It’s actually funny-afterward, the dude TOTALLY understood the f*** up and we laughed together.”

The heavy metal rocker has been adamant about his no texting protocol at concerts. In a 2014 interview with WRIF radio station, he recalled dumping several water bottles onto another unsuspecting fan, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Taylor stated regarding the incident where he dumped the water bottles on a fan’s phone: “Oh my God, it had to have broken her phone. And then she was just bummed for the rest of the night, and I just kept shrugging at her, going, ‘Hey, it’s a live show. Pay attention, or don’t be here.’” He also stated, “People need to unplug and realize that they’re missing their lives, dude. It’s sad. And that may be me just being an old jerk, but I don’t care. I don’t care. Truth is truth; it doesn’t matter what age you’re at.”

Do you think Slipknot lead singer Corey Taylor was right to be angry with the fan? And was it ok for him to then smack the phone out from the fan’s hands?
