Sasha Banks and Bayley will compete next week for the right to face RAW Women's Champion, Alexa Bliss, at SummerSlam.
This came about after Bayley pinned Bliss cleanly for the second week in a row. For Bayley, this is the equivalent of Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak. Since she's feeling so confident, she believed she's the rightful number one contender.
More: How Alexa Bliss Is Saving The Women's Revolution
Despite being awful since WrestleMania, she may have a good case. But, unfortunately for her, Sasha Banks also thinks she deserves the opportunity.
At Great Balls of Fire, Banks fought Bliss, and won. Kind of. Bliss took her time getting back into the ring after feigning an injury and let the referee count to 10. So, according to Banks, she had Bliss beaten at Great Balls and has at least earned a rematch.
Enter Kurt Angle to play judge.
After hearing both women out, he made the only decision there was to make. They'll have to duke it out in the ring.
This is good old fashioned competition. Something the women's division is doing very well these days.
For those that may not be sure, the Women's Revolution has been tremendously successful. In only 2 years time, women's wrestling has drastically changed. If you're not buying, Sasha Banks would like to offer a few points: The Boss recently spoke with Stuff of New Zealand where she mainly discussed the evolution of women in sports.
"Just two years ago we were considered Divas, that was our brand name, and we had a championship that was in the shape of a butterfly. I was like 'This is not us, we're not Divas, we're Superstars.' And so two years ago we changed that. We have all different shapes, sizes, all different looks, and it's so beautiful to see, because legit five years ago it was all models."
Banks herself has been one of the figureheads of this movement along with Charlotte Flair. Sasha finds herself currently entwined with RAW Women's Champion Alexa Bliss. Banks has been removed from the women's main event since WrestleMania and now looks to be heading towards a SummerSlam showdown against the champion. Next week, she'll take her first big step and getting her groove back.
