In the spirit of this Sunday, WWE released an entire album of unseen photos from previous SummerSlams. They’re a wonderful trip down memory lane for any wrestling nostalgic, but we hand-picked out favorite.
However, WWE didn’t date any of them. But we did a little research and were able to apply the appropriate year for each photo.

Randy Orton – 2016
Last year’s closing image of SummerSlamย is one we’ll likely never forget. Brock Lesnarย sent an elbow smashing into Randy Orton’s skull, splitting it open for the world to see.ย
Needless to say Randy needed the medical attention he’s receiving in the above photo.ย
Macho Man – 199?
If we had to guess, this photo puts Macho Man at the 1994ย SummerSlam. It looks like he’s in his announcer stage, andย the Razor Ramon tees are a supply a nice clue.ย
Sasha Banks – 2016
Who knew WWE kept their titles stashed in a tool box? Unfortunatelyย for Banks, she’d be losing that belt to Charlotte on this night.ย
Shawn Michaels – 1995
A quick trip down the WWEย Network reminded us that Michaelsย wore these blue trunks at SummerSlamย 1995. He would defeat Razor Ramon in a Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Champion.

Dean Ambrose – 2016
This was taken after the Lunatic Fringe retained his WWEย Championship against Dolphย Ziggler. Could Ambrose and Seth Rollins be taking a similar picture this Sunday?ย
Paul Heyman – 20**
No telling when this iconic photo was taken. We can guess it’s more current becauseย Paul E.’s rat tail has been snipped…
Finn Balor – 2016
This looks like it was taken in the moment before Balor’sย Universal Championshipย match with Seth Rollins. Balorย would win the Championship but would have to forfeitย it the next night on RAW due to a shoulder injury.ย
Roman Reigns – 2016
A man’s goatee can tell no lie! By Reigns’ facial hair and his blue vest, we can safely assume this was taken last SummerSlam. Reigns actually did not have an official match last summer, instead, he just brutalized Rusev.ย ย
John Cena and Nikke Bella – 2013 or 2014
WWE’sย power couple look to be having a serious chat backstage. This may be 2014 judging by the swelling around Cena’sย eye – he fought Brock Lesnarย that year…
