According to Cagesideseats, Jason Jordan may be getting an Intercontinental Championship opportunity against the Miz at Summerslam. We had reported last week that Jordan would be receiving a mid-card push, this not only fortifies that rumor but surpasses it. A feud with the Miz could place Jordan on WWE‘s map permanently.

However, this may put a hold on the thought that Jordan will soon be turning heel. Seeing that Miz is WWE’s best bad guy, he’s just not the opponent for Jordan to make the switch upon. This is further proof that WWE is in this one (Jordan) for the long haul and his potential turn is likely months away.
The biggest question now is whether Jordan will actually beat the Miz at Summerslam. Chances are WWE has not made that decision and will likely depend on who will be leaving SummerSlam as Universal Champion. The effects of that will trickle down the rest of the card and may make the perfect amount of room for Jordan to launch as Intercontinental Champion.
It appears that WWE is high on Jordan. The Kurt Angle illegitimate child storyline will be one that fans won’t be forgetting anytime soon and for Jordan to get that spot says quite a bit about how WWE feels about his future.

To his credit, he’s answered the call. While in American Alpha, Jordan didn’t have to display much personality or even handle candid interviews. Now, he’s been thrown into one of WWE’s top storylines and been asked to show some acting range. He’s been nothing but believable and his contributions have been crucial to this story work.
With such a Maury Povich based concept, fans were likely to be skeptical of Angle’s love child. But, due to subtle booking and reasonable promos, we can all play along by suspending our disbelief.
Regardless this has been nothing but fun so far, especially considering that some fans are actually buying into Angle being the biological father of Jordan. Kudos to WWE for taking a creative risk and giving us a program that we can all get excited about.
