The first round of WWE SummerSlam betting odds are out, courtesy of the folks at Bet Wrestling. These odds can often be a good indicator of who is looking to win in their respective matches.
Sometimes on the day of the show, the “smart money” comes in and a few of the matches make a 180 degree turn. At that point, the odds are usually locked in pretty close to what actually happens, although there are sometimes still some surprises that go against the odds.

If you aren’t familiar with how betting odds work, the competitor with a “-” in front of their name is the favorite to win. A “+” after the name means they are the underdog. The larger the number, the more of a favorite or underdog that person is.

The most shocking part of the odds so far is that Nakamura is a favorite to win the SmackDown World title, as of this writing. Brock Lesnar is the favorite to come out Universal Champion. Interestingly, both Sasha Banks and Alexa Bliss are on the negative/favorite side (which means it would require a higher bet to win money on them), with Bliss being ever so slightly more favored. The same goes for the Cruiserweight title match, with Tozawa slightly favored over Neville.
Finn Balor is the heaviest favorite on the show right now, at -700. Translation of those odds is that it would require a $700 bet to win $100 on him due to how heavily favored he is. That makes sense as it wouldn’t make much sense from a booking perspective to have Balor lose in the first match where he has portrayed “The Demon” in a year.
