Shemar Moore left Criminal Minds after playing fan-favorite Derek Morgan for 11 seasons, briefly returning in the Season 12 finale in May. Naturally, fans are wondering whether there’s a chance the 47-year-old might return to the hit CBS show, something Moore discussed at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.
“Anything’s possible,” he told TV Guide.

“I told all the fans, I keep telling them those elevators closed and they can always open up again,” the star added, referring to his final scene.

The actor is currently gearing up to star on CBS‘ S.W.A.T., which premieres on Nov. 2.
Moore added that he’s very grateful for the roles that have led him to where he is now, including his 400-plus episode stint as Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless.

“Right now, my focus is Hondo, but if Malcolm needed to come back and flirt with his baby girl and take care of business, it could happen,” he said.
