Game of Thrones has seen plenty of action this season, but it looks as though this week’s episode will top it all.
“Beyond the Wall” will pick up right where the previous episode left off — with Jon Snow leading a small expedition north of the wall, in hopes of capturing a wight alive and bringing it back to Cersei Lannister. If they can prove that the threat is real, Cersei will likely help with the fight.

This mission is insanely dangerous and it isn’t likely that everyone in the group will make it back. Tormund Giantsbane, Jorah Mormont, Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, The Hound, and Gendry have all joined Jon in his deadly quest.
It’s almost a guarantee that someone will die this episode, and it’s likely that there will be more casualties than that.
Here are a few predictions as to who will bite the ice “Beyond the Wall.”
Thoros of Myr
Okay, let’s start off by establishing the fact that literally any single one of these men could die while they’re out on this expedition. It would be a decent guess to choose any of them.
That being said, there are a couple that are more likely to die than the others, and Thoros falls into that category.
Thoros of Myr is responsible for bringing back Beric from the dead so many times. With Melisandre gone, he’s the last remaining Red Priest in Westeros.
Jon and Beric have both returned from the dead so, going forward, the consequences for both of them seem a little smaller than they should be. If the only person that can bring them back is gone, everything gets more serious.
The death of Thoros in this episode could be a huge plot device for Jon Snow going forward.
Gendry
No one wants to imagine this scenario, but we have to put in on the table as a possibility.
After Gendry rowed off into the sea a few years ago, fans quickly started calling for him to return, or at least for some kind of update as to where he could be.
If the producers brought the character back just to please the fans then he won’t last very long. It would be easy to have the character show up, watch the internet freak out, and then kill him off in the next episode.
That would be an understandable way to make fans happy without affecting the story in the slightest.
Hopefully this isn’t the case and Gendry has a big role in the rest of the series, but it was to be an option we’re prepared for.
One of the Dragons
A few fans have theorized that Daenerys will need to rescue Jon once he’s north of the wall, that she’ll take her dragons to help fight the Night King.
If this happens, it’s likely that one of the three dragons won’t make it back. Yes, they’re powerful beasts, but think about the story here.
The Night King can’t seem vulnerable to the powers of dragons — not yet. This guy is supposed to be the ultimate villain to Westeros. If he can’t kill a dragon, what will the rest of the show be about? Daenerys will know that her forces can easily destroy the Night King and everyone’s problems are solved.
However, if the Night King kills a dragon, he immediately becomes the most dangerous being in the world. If the dragons can’t stop him, who can?
Killing one of the dragons, likely Rhaegal or Viserion, would give more depth to the evil of the Night King and help keep the story going to the end of the series.
