When Criminal Minds returns to CBS this fall, the hunt for the infamous Mr. Scratch will continue.
The unsub is responsible for the car accident that is set to take the life of one BAU agent in the Season 13 premiere (Sorry, Damon Gupton) is on the loose, but maybe not for long.

During the Television Critics Association summer press tour, according to TV Guide, Criminal Minds star Adam Rodriguez teased that the team could be closing in on the villain.
I think we’re going to get our hands on Mr. Scratch,” Rodriquez said. “Maybe.”
This was a bit of a tease, but the chiming in of another cast member gives it a little more legitimacy.
Paget Brewster responded to the comment, telling the audience, “in a couple of months, you’ll see that was a great pun.”
Knowing Mr. Scratch, and knowing the grotesque lengths Criminal Minds can go to at times, this sounds a bit ominous.
The chase for Mr. Scratch will continue when Criminal Minds premieres its 13th season Wednesday, September 27 on CBS.
