The Big Bang Theory has named executive producer Steve Holland as its new showrunner after longtime showrunner Steven Molaro moved to series spinoff Young Sheldon, Variety reports.

Holland, who joined the show's staff in 2009 and became an executive producer last year, will helm the CBS comedy's eleventh season, which premieres on Sept. 25.

Executive producers Chuck Lorre and Molaro will continue to oversee the show and will work closely with Holland, who will run the writer's room. Molaro will run the writer's room for Young Sheldon, which he created with Lorre.

The Big Bang Theory has currently been renewed through Season 12, with the show's core actors, Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Kunal Nayyar, Simon Helberg, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch, all having been secured for the next two seasons.
