With the Roseanne reboot running full steam ahead, there have been several questions remaining as to what the cast will look like for the upcoming series. One question in particular that fans have been wondering is: who is going to play Becky?

In the original show, the character was played by Lecy Goranson. When she exited in the fifth season, she was replaced by actress Sarah Chalke. Fortunately, both actresses are set to appear in the reunion.

This being said, only one of them will be portraying Becky. The character will be played by Goranson with Chalke taking on a different role, according to E! News.

At this time, ABC has not revealed what role Chalke, 40, will be playing. However, she has been confirmed for the reboot.

Goranson and Chalke aren’t the only two cast members that are confirmed to star in the revival. Roseanne Barr, John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, and Michael Fishman are all set to reprise their roles.

While there may be two former Beckys coming back for the reboot show, there is one series alum who has not been confirmed at this point. Keep scrolling to see which former star has not signed on for the Roseanne revival yet.

Johnny Galecki Still Not Confirmed for ‘Roseanne’ Reboot

ABCย is still having discussions withย Big Bang Theory star Johnny Galecki to return forย Roseanneย reboot,ย ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey said earlier this month at the 2017 TCA Summer Press Tour.

Since the announcement of theย Roseanne revival, there has been a question mark surrounding Galecki’sย involvement. Dungey revealed that Galecki may return though nothing has been confirmed, Deadline reports.

“Those conversations are still in progress,” Dungey said.

Galeckiย starred on the sitcom for six seasons as David Healy, the love interest to Gilbert’s Darlene Conner. Dungeyย did not offer anyย hint as to the status of the Becky-David relationship.

One factor that is likely the cause of the delay forย Galeckiย is a scheduling issue. Most recently, the 42-year-old actor inked a deal to appear inย two more seasons of CBS’s Big Bang Theory. Not to mention, he is also serving as executive producer for the upcoming CBS comedy By the Book, which could possibly be in competition with the Roseanne reboot.

In addition to the question of whether Galeckiย is going to appear on the Roseanne reboot, another detail that has fans scratching their heads is how the network is going to handle Dan’s death.ย

Is Dan Alive in the Roseanne Reboot?

After months of speculation and theories emerging from fans and cast members alike, there has beenย confirmation as to the fate of John Goodman’s character, Dan, heading into the revival.

Also at the 2017 TCAย Summer press tour, Dungeyย revealed that Dan will indeed be alive and a part of the new episodes,ย E!ย reports.

“I’m not going to talk too specifically about the season,” Dungey said. “I wouldn’t say that it’s ignoring the events of the finale, but I can say that Dan is definitely alive.”

Echoing Dungey’sย comments, Goodman further solidified the notion that the showrunners were going to bypass the fact that his character passed away in the original series finale.

“I don’t know, I think they’re just going to ignore (Dan’s death).” he said in an interview. “There might be a funny reference to it.”

Goodman, 64, also offered a sneak peek of where the Conners will be at the start of the revival.

“It’s going to be all new turf. We were in our 40s when we left off,” he said. “I myself have applied for Medicare. We’re going to have grandkids. It’s just like a new life. I don’t know what they’re going to do, but I’m excited to try it this way.”

Roseanne Casting “Gender Creative” Child Character

With alums like Barr and Goodman already set to reprise their roles, the showrunners are also hoping to interject some fresh faces into the revival. One new character that will reportedly be featured in the series is a “gender creative” young boy named Mark.

A casting notice posted by the producers detailed how the sitcom is looking to find an actor for the role of Darlene and David’s son, whoย “displays qualities of both male and female young child traits,” according to Fox News. The memo also uses words like “effeminate” and “sensitive” to describe the character.

Fans will likely recall that David and Darlene became the parents of a premature baby girl in the 19th episode of the final season of the original series. In the reboot, Darlene will be theย mother of two children with the oldest now being 14-years-old and the younger son, Mark,ย around 9-years-old.

After the news of the “gender creative” role being written into the Roseanne reboot, social media users took to Twitter to share their reaction. Check out some of the most heated responses here.
