A tourist in St. Maarten was tragically killed after trying to withstand the blast of a jet engine.
The New Zealand woman was attempting to hang onto a fence as a plane was getting ready to take off down the runway on the other side. As the plane revved its engine, the pressure became too much for the woman to withstand.

When she couldn’t hold on any longer, the blast from the jet engine propelled her backward at an incredible speed. She was thrown into a concrete barrier at the edge of the beach where she slammed against the fixture.
Others on the beach who witnessed the incident tried to help the woman, but it was to no avail.

The 57-year-old tourist was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital.
