Parents Share Photo to Alert Others of Dangerous Condition for Babies That Is SO Common

Many parents are not aware of a serious condition that can lead to babies suffering a severe infection or even losing a toe or finger.

Kansas dad Scott Walker is sharing a photo of his infant daughter to let parents know what they should be on the lookout for to protect their babies from this scary condition.

Scott and Jessica Walker and 3-year-old Mya welcomed baby Molly into their family in September.

Recently on a lunch outing, baby Molly became very upset and nothing seemed to make her calm down. "Molly has been battling some colic and reflux issues for the past couple months, so being agitated is nothing unordinary, for her, but something seemed 'off' this time," he said to BUZZFEED.

Jessica took Molly's socks off to cool her down. That's when they noticed her toe. A piece of hair was wrapped so tightly around one of Molly's tiny toes that it was creating what doctors call "toe-tourniquet syndrome" or "hair tourniquet." The hair was so tight, that it was cutting in to Molly's skin.

Molly's mom used a magnifying mirror and tweezer to removed the hair, and her toe healed up perfectly. However, the situation could have been much worse.

Since sharing his story on Facebook, Scott has received an overwhelming response.
