David Feherty, a former professional golfer and famed commentator, has announced that his son passed away from a drug overdose.
On Tuesday morning, Feherty took to Twitter to share the heartbreaking news that his oldest son, Shey, died on Saturday.

The Golf Channel also shared a statement in response to Feherty’s loss.

Fans and celebrities alike have been reaching out to Feherty on social media to express their condolences.

In 2014, Feherty admitted that he once had addiction problems of his own. During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, he said he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and was an alcoholic who took pills daily.
