A typical day on the lake turned into a tragedy for one family.
A 12-year-old girl was pronounced dead after being run over by a speedboat driven by her father, according to the New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol.

Zoe Anderson was learning how to ski on Monday morning when she fell, ABC News reports. Her father, Sherwood Anderson, was driving the boat back toward his daughter’s location, but was momentarily “distracted as his hat was blown from his head,” according to police.

Sherwood put the boat into neutral but it passed over Zoe’s body at a slow speed, causing serious injuries to her torso.
Zoe’s mother, Tonya Anderson, and her 14-year-old sister were on board the boat at the time of the tragic accident.
The family immediately called for help and brought Zoe to shore where first responders attempted to revive her with CPR, but were unsuccessful.
The incident is still under investigation.
