Bachelor in Paradise returned on Monday night, and viewers got to see the events that led up to the infamous sexual assault investigation that temporarily shut down production.
While the alleged incident was not shown, of course, fans saw DeMario Jackson and Corinne Olympios talk and flirt leading up to the interaction. The show then cuts and shows off the immediate aftermath of the decision to stop production on the show.

As always, Twitter chimed in throughout the night with some hot takes on the situation.

When the contestants first arrived at the tropical locale, Olympios and Jackson were already off to a flirty start.
Olympios even teased that she wasn’t gonna go after some right away, but Jackson had his eyes on her.

However, just as everyone was settling in, Jackson and Olympios were all over each other and jumping in the pool.
Cameras caught the pair jump into the pool and getting rather close. However, this interaction was shown in the episode’s trailer and was said to not be the incident that led to the shutdown.

After that moment and some trolling dialogue about a “game-changing” reveal from host Chris Harrison during a cast meeting, fans then realized that the show was going to wait until the end of the two-hour season premiere to show the drama surrounding the investigation.
So all fans could do was sit and wait for the real craziness to unfold.
Wait so they gonna drag out this whole corrine Demario fiasco until the end of the ep? Sleazeballs #bachelorinparadise

When the incident went down at the end of the show, the hot takes were plentiful.
The incident wasn’t shown, but you see Jackson and Olympios hanging out before the first rose ceremony. Then the show focused on some other couples. We then saw Olympios hanging out with other contestants before being pulled away by producers.
Cameramen started to put their cameras down and everyone on set seemed extremely confused by what was happening.
As expected, the show left the situation as a cliffhanger. However, many fans were more than a bit irritated at the anti-climactic closing.
Seriously? A 2 hr show and they didn’t show the Corinne/DeMario situation? WTF? #BachelorInParadise

Well, that was pretty anticlimactic. #BachelorInParadise

Slide 5
Furthermore, many were just made at the way the show was laid out. No really hint at wrongdoing was alluded to and the contestants seemed absolutely clueless about the moment.
Plus, they made a big fuss about how all the cameras suddenly stopped recording, but there was footage was still being filmed and shown.
The cameras shutdown but there are cameras recording the non-recording. #BachelorInParadise

Using the Corinne/Demario situation as a cliffhanger seems like a weird thing to do? #bachelorinparadise all about ratings I guess ?

Me: still figuring out what happened between DeMario and Corinne and why did production wait a few days before halting? #BachelorInParadise pic.twitter.com/u8iZiqYz62
