The news broke earlier this year that parody musician “Weird Al” Yankovic would be voicing the main character in Milo Murphy’s Law, an upcoming Disney XD show, and the first preview has now arrived.
The animated series from the creators of Phineas and Ferb will be based around Yankovic’s character 13-year-old Milo Murphy. The titular character regularly suffers from extremely bad luck as his great-great-great-great grandfather originated the phrase “Murphy’s Law.” Hence the show has been aptly titled Milo Murphy’s Law.

In order to handle his stressful life, his two best friends Zack and Melissa are there to help Milo confront his daily disastrous situations. The half-hour show will feature two 11-minute stories in which the three friends work together to help Milo overcome his “Extreme Hereditary Murphy’s Law Condition.”
“Weird Al” performed the theme song for the preview, which will also serve as the opening credits for the show, and he will also be contributing several more original songs throughout the series, according to AV club.
The cast includes Sarah Chalke (as science teacher Miss Murawski), Jermaine Clement (as TV character ‘Dr. Zone’), Vanessa Williams (as Zack’s mother), Mackenzie Phillips (as Principal Milder) and Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Ming-Na Wen (as time travel agent Savannah). Also involved in the series is Christian Slater who is taking on a recurring role and will be voicing the character of the school’s crossing guard named Elliot, interestingly enough. Milo’s parents will be voiced by Bader and Adlon.
Milo Murphy’s Law will premiere on October 3 on Disney, and a preview of the first episode will be available on September 26 on Disney XD’s app, YouTube channel, or VOD platform.
