The year 2016 has seen a slew of monumental moments from some of TV’s most popular reality stars.
While some of the popular figures have reached some incredible milestones, others went through a truly dark period that was equally as impactful on their lives. Regardless of whether the moments were good or bad, the past year was huge for some of TV’s most recognizable personalities.

Duck Dynasty Cancelled
The Robertson family and Duck Dynasty stars announced this fall that the wildly popular A&E series was coming to an end.
Duck Dynasty broke several ratings records on A&E and cable television as a whole. The show was wildly successful, and the fourth-season premiere garnered an incredible 11.8 millions viewers – more than any other cable series in television history.
The announcement came from the Robertson family themselves, who broke the news after the most recent season premiere.

The current fifth season will end April 12, 2017, and after that, Duck Dynasty will be over.
Rob & Chyna Epic Fallout Fight
Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna’s fights have been well documented on their E! reality series. However, the lovebirds had a blowout fight of epic proportions earlier this year after Chyna’s Instagram account was allegedly hacked.
In the hacked text messages, the 28-year-old former stripper called Rob “lazy,” “fat,” and “insecure.” There were also social media interactions that suggested Chyna might be cheating on her future hubby.
In an emotional outburst, Blac Chyna took her and Rob’s newborn baby, Dream Kardashian, and left their house.
Rob took to Snapchat to send this message: “Chyna knew exactly what she was doing to get me. I can’t believe she did this to me. And this isn’t for some ratings this is my real life so please understand I’m just being open right now. Cuz if it was for ratings I wouldn’t explain all this here. And with Chyna’s messages and her leaving with everything and the baby I am broken.”
The fight led to reports suggesting that Rob and Chyna’s engagement had been called off. Sources close to the family also said that Rob’s famous sisters wanted him to break up with Chyna.
“The sisters don’t want anything to do with this relationship,” an insider said while talking to E! News. “They see how fake it is. It’s so unhealthy for their brother. They see how Chyna is using their family for fame and money and they aren’t going to let it happen anymore. The family accepted her but since Chyna is now showing who she really is, they don’t want anything to do with her. They have real-life problems going on and are trying to have a positive New Year and not this drama.”
Despite the fight, it seems that the lovebirds and back together again.
Deadliest Catch Star Beaten
Deadliest Catch star Jake Harris was severely beaten, and spent weeks in recovery at the hospital.
“On Saturday at 8 p.m., we received a report of a male victim of an assault,” police spokesman Aaron Snell said. “He had been injured in an altercation.”
Josh, Jake’s brother, said that Jake was beaten and then thrown out of a moving vehicle onto the side of the road. There has not been any information released at this point as to why Harris was beaten, but he was severely injured in the altercation.
Two people were arrested and booked for the crime. Spokane police said that Jorel Fultz and Amanda Ritter were booked into jail on first-degree robbery and assault charges.
Teen Mom OG Stars Amber Portwood and Farrah Abraham Fight
During a cast reunion for Teen Mom OG, Amber Portwood went absolutely nuts and tried to punch her co-star Farrah Abraham.
The dispute ignited when Abraham and her on-again, off-again beau, Simon Saran, joked that Portwood’s fiancé, Matt Baier, looked like a “pedophile.”
During the reunion episode, Abraham didn’t use the moment to issue an apology.
“Well, I’m sorry that Matt probably looks like it,” she said.
Portwood finally reached her boiling point and burst back into the studio shouting, “Just because somebody’s 20 years older than you doesn’t mean he’s a f–king pedophile.”
“Shut your f—ing mouth, do you understand me? I’m going to stand up for my man!” Portwood said.
The shocking moment was all caught on camera.
16 And Pregnant Star Valerie Fairman Dies
16 and Pregnant star Valerie Fairman was found dead in the month of December.
Despite her efforts to get clean, the 23-year-old mother died of a suspected overdose. Her 7-year-old daughter, Naveah, was taken in by Valerie’s mother, Janice Fairman.
MTV released a statement about the television personality’s death, saying, “We are saddened by the news of Valerie Fairman’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time.”
Survivor Star Goes To Jail On Horrific Charges
Just this week, former Survivor star Michael Skupin was sentenced to one to four years in prison after being found guilty on child pornography and larceny charges.
The entire scandal was utterly shocking. Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette explained that the content found on the 54-year-old’s computer was seriously disturbing.
“The children in these videos and images were exploited, and each time the images were shared and viewed continued their suffering,” Schuette said. “My hope is that today’s conviction will bring some closure to the families and the children that are victims in this case.”
Despite being found guilty, Skupin told the court on Tuesday that he was innocent.
“I maintain that I didn’t do it,” Skupin said. “That’s all I maintain. There were hundreds of people who had access to my computer. I have 11 children who I’m raising, and I have about $1000 a month in child support. There’s so much fallout that would result in me going away.”
Flip or Flop Stars Separate
After seven years of marriage, the stars of Flip or Flop, Tarek and Christina El Moussa called it quits.
The HGTV stars reportedly have an altercation back in May that led to police being called to them home as Tarek was allegedly in the front yard waving a gun around in the air.
“Like many couples, we have had challenges in our marriage,” the couple said in a statement. “We had an unfortunate misunderstanding about six months ago and the police were called to our house in an abundance of caution. There was no violence and no charges were filed.”
The El Moussas tied the knot in 2009 and share two children, 1-year-old Brayden and 6-year-old Taylor.
Kim Kardashian Robbery
On October 2, Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint at a hotel in Paris. The crooks bound and gagged the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star before stealing millions of dollars worth of her jewelry.
Since the shocking ordeal, the 36-year-old has mostly remained out of the public eye and stayed away from posting on social media.
At the time, Kim’s sister, Khloe Kardashian, spoke out about the frightening incident while making an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show.
Khloe said: “Well, I think it’s just a wake up call to make a lot of life adjustments. This is a really serious matter for Kim I think that’s really personal as to when that emotional terror you could move on from that. I think for us it’s all a wake up call for all of us, but definitely just to make sure our sister’s OK.”
Donald Trump Wins Presidency
Former Apprentice star Donald Trump shocked the world, and won the 2016 Presidential election. There was no bigger moment this year than the billionaire real estate mogul upsetting Hillary Clinton to secure the presidency.
The entire campaign season was exactly what you might expect out of a former reality star. There were scandals and shocking moments, but Donald Trump was able to overcome the odds.
