Milo Yiannopoulos has officially announced his resignation from Breitbart. The polarizing political spokesman has stepped down from his post at the publication after igniting a media firestorm following his comments about sex with children.

“It would be wrong to allow my poor choice of words to detract from my colleagues’ important reporting, so today I am resigning from Breitbart, effectively immediately. This decision is mine alone,” Yiannopoulos said in a statement.

After the announcement was made that he was leaving the company, social media absolutely exploded. Twitter users have been voicing their opinions on the conservative columnist resigning from Breitbart, and the reactions are brutal.
