Looks like the Mayan Motorcycle Club will ride again very soon. Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter has announced that the Mayan MC spin-off just got “one step closer”.
Mayans MC spinoff just got one step closer. I’m very excited about this story. Dark and beautiful. #MayansMC

The Mayans, led by Marcus Alverez (played by Emilio Rivera) were the main antagonists during the first two seasons, and started a turf war between themselves and the Sons of Anarchy over the rule of the San Joaquin Valley. Mayans then allied themselves with the Nords, another rival gang, but that was an alliance that quickly faded. Eventually, the Mayans and the Sons had an uneasy alliance in the final season as Alverez takes SAMCRO’s side in an all-out gang war.

While the details of the spin-off are vague at best, THR reports that the series will not take place in Northern California and casting is still far from underway as well as the timeline of the series.
